3. Incorrect SOC reading

The battery capacity decreases as the charging and discharging cycles increase.Re-configure the “Rated Battery Ah” to the capacity when the battery is fully charged.
4.Inaccurate sampling precision in large-current scenarios

Elevated ambient temperatures can affect sampling accuracy. Ensure proper ventilation for the shunt and remove the upper cover if needed.

9.The Battery Shunt 300 doesn't have programming options for lithium or lead-acid batteries. Can it not be programmed for lithium or lead-acid batteries?

Battery Shunt 300 does not differentiate between battery types. Its calculations are based on current and voltage. During the initial connection, it will prompt you to input the battery capacity. It can also be manually calibrated. After fully charging the battery, set the current SOC to 100% in the settings. While specific programming for different battery types isn't available, these settings and manual adjustments ensure precise monitoring and control.
10.Can the Battery Shunt 300 handle battery banks larger than 300A?

The 300A specification of the Battery Shunt represents its maximum capacity rather than indicating a limitation based on battery bank size. It is not restricted to use only with 300A battery banks. To ensure compatibility, calculate the actual maximum continuous current in your circuit, and the Battery Shunt 300 should be suitable for monitoring larger battery banks.

    The Manual Needs Work

Posted by Robert Wade on Dec 5th 2023

The manual doesn't include any troubleshooting or error condition identification. Example: Upon first hooking up the SS300 the device beeped once and the power LED flashed between amber and red. It took me a half hour to figure out the in-line fuse connected to the positive terminal on my lithium battery was damaged, creating an intermittent connection. Once I replaced the fuse the SS300 worked fine.
