FAQ

1. What is AGM Battery?

AGM batteries are a specific design within the lead-acid battery category. AGM batteries use Absorbent Glass Mat technology, where the electrolyte (a mixture of water and sulfuric acid) is absorbed into a fiberglass mat separator. This design eliminates the need for free-flowing electrolyte and makes the battery maintenance-free and spill-proof.
2. Can I discharge the battery to 0% and then recharge it again?

To avoid cycle life shortening, it is recommended not to discharge the battery below 50%. And when not in use, we recommend charging it 100% before storing it and recharging it after three months.
3. What's the best way to place and store this battery?

It's a sealed battery and we recommend placing the battery upright. It is allowed to be placed and installed on its side only if there are special reasons for doing so. DO NOT place the battery upside down. You should store it in a dry and cool (5°F~104°F / -15°C~40°C) place. Make sure that it is 100% charged before storing it, and recharge after three months.
4. I will live in RV during the winter holiday. So I want to know that can this battery be used at freezing temperatures?

The discharge working temperature range is -4~140℉/ -20~60℃ and the charge temperature range is 32~122℉/ 0~50℃. Using this battery at a lower or higher temperature than the range will shorten the battery's lifespan. We recommend checking the specific daily temperature of the place you will be going before using this AGM battery.
5. Do they come with the terminal bolts? if not what size do they take?

This Renogy AGM battery comes with two M8 x 1.25 x 20 mm terminal bolts.
6. Can I connect batteries in series and in parallel?

Yes, you can. The maximum number that can be connected in parallel is 4. In series, there are no limitations.
7. Can I connect a 100 Ah battery to a 200 Ah battery?

No, you can't. All the batteries you connect together should be the same capacity (Ah), the same voltage (V), and most importantly, the same battery type (AGM). And it would be better if they come from the same brand.
8. When using a charge controller, which battery type should I set?

You should choose the SLD battery settings.
9. Is it compatible with Renogy ONE?

No. This battery is not compatible with Renogy ONE currently. You can use a 500A Battery Monitor With Shunt (sold separately) to keep track of battery status.
10. Can this battery be used in series to build a 24-volt system?

Yes, you can. The maximum number that can be connected in parallel is 4. In series, there are no limitations.

    100 Ah AGM battery

Posted by Paul Raiche on Mar 31st 2024

I bought this battery for my class C motorhome which had an undersized FLA battery that wouldn't hold a charge. The new battery arrived with a decent charge so I was able to immediately determine that it was working after connecting it. After fully charging the battery, I ran a load test by running my RV refrigerator for a period of time. The battery performed very well. Also, ordering and delivery were very smooth. Free shipping was also a big plus.

    New

Posted by Kip on Mar 13th 2024

Lighter than the 200ah battery for sure, can not see inside of it but it seems to charge and work as expected on our back up solar addition. Renogy is the brand to remember.

    Quality battery

Posted by 1337458 renogy customer on Feb 12th 2024

After reviewing and pricing many AGM batteries, I found this one to be a great choice. I was happy with delivery, packaging, and function. I look forward to seeing what kind of performance and reliability I get with these. I'll be adding an additional solar panel to see how much more dry camping I can get.

    Good battery poor description

Posted by Cheryl Tsushima on Dec 30th 2023

I had (two) 9 yr. old AGM batteries in my slide in camper. I bought (two) 12v 100ah/10HR batteries to replace the old batteries. Both my older batteries are group 24 but these new batteries did not say what group they were. It turns out they are a group 27 style, and I cannot fit two of this size battery in my battery box. So, I figured I would send them back to get the right size...Nope! Not returnable. So, I am stuck with one battery in the camper and an extra battery paperweight.
