Description

The new and improved Renogy Adventurer-Li adds two great features. The first is Lithium battery charging capability. The programmable Lithium charging voltage allows the Adventurer-Li to charge most Lithium batteries on the market. The second is the RS232 port that is used to communicate with the new Renogy BT-1 Bluetooth module. The Bluetooth module will be used to pair the Adventurer-Li with the upcoming Renogy APP. The Renogy Adventurer-Li is a 30A PWM solar power charge controller that is designed to be used with 12V or 24V photovoltaic systems. This advanced negative-ground controller is designed for aesthetically clean flush mounting on RV or camper walls, however if flush mounting does not appeal to you, the included Adventurer-Li Surface Mount Attachment give you the option to forget it. Integrating highly efficient PWM charging, the Adventurer-Li increases battery longevity by regulating the charge flowing from the solar panels to the battery bank. It features an LCD screen for displaying system operation information and data, and allows for full control of parameter settings. This charge controller comes equipped with a fully comprehensive self-diagnostic system and electronic protection functions to prevent damage from installation mistakes or system faults.

    Excellent Overland Application

    Posted by Bobber69 on Feb 22nd 2023

I purchased this a year ago for my Overland trailer. Built out a 30A system with two Renogy 100w panels. I'm currently running a flooded battery, but switching to LiFePO4 very soon. It works great for charging phones, lights, heater and still has plenty of power for more. The BT APP is perfect for keeping tabs on charging and load. It was very easy to install. I highly recommend this controller.

Fit the controller into my wall. It looks like it came with my camper

    PCM Controller has limited capacity

Posted by Sunshine on Jun 30th 2022

This is a PWM controller which means it has limited capacity. It reverts to the battery voltage level and when connected to my 2 BougeRV 200 watt panels wired in series, they would produce about 135 Watts maximum. I replaced this controller with a MPPT controller and I now see over 400 watts in optimal conditions. This controller would be fine for smaller systems. The quality is good and price affordable.

4 stars. Not accurately displaying Temp.

Posted by MarknMD on Aug 29th 2021

Plug n Play replacement for the 30A Adventurer so I would have the Li battery charging capability. But, the temperature sensor only read 24' with the sensor and after disconnecting it the temperature read 77' and hasn't changed one degree. Otherwise it would be 5 stars. Temperature is not needed when using Li batteries but right now i am still using Lead Acid.

    Good controller

    Posted by JoeC657 on May 23rd 2020

The Adventurer 30 Li is a solid performer after a year of use with the four 100 Watt solar panels. However, the just-purchased BT-1 may be DOA. No light when connected, failed bluetooth connection attempt. Set up documentation lacks detail, for example, what should happen when the BT-1 is plugged in. I will write a BT-1 review if I ever get it working

    We just installed this charg

Posted by Laura Bertran on Apr 29th 2020

We just installed this charge controller in our camper as an upgrade to our 170 watt roof mounted panel system but have not been able to judge its performance since we’re still in the process of replacing our battery. We’ll update this review once we see our new system in action. But we can say that the controller arrived in perfect condition and installation was simple and quick. We’re expecting good results as we already use a DIY Renogy suitcase with a 100 watt flexible panel and a Wanderer controller which we have been very pleased with.

very nice and simple to use.

Posted by Lee Anderson on Apr 23rd 2020

very nice and simple to use. one recommendation: For RV amp-hours not kWatt-hrs is the standard measurement. kWatt-hr is associated with poor generation for home use. Need a way to change.

    I added a 5th 100 Watt panel

Posted by Robert Chamberlin on Apr 12th 2020

I added a 5th 100 Watt panel (RNG100D) to my Sprinter Van. In my case adding a 5th panel to my series array would exceed the 100 Volt PV maximum input limit on my MPPT controller, so I chose to add this PWM controller dedicated exclusively to the 5th panel. An added bonus is redundancy. The MPPT and PWM controllers play well together as long as the settings are identical. I am running Renogy LiFePo4 100 batteries. In addition to my PV arrays, I run a Renogy DC/DC 40 Amp charger with identical settings.
