Frequently Asked Questions
What can this panel charge?
The Eflex solar panel can charge most batteries (charge controller needed) and power stations. However, please ensure that the open circuit voltage of the panel does not exceed the max DC input voltage rating of the powerstation or charge controller
Why is my solar panel under producing?
Several factors may be impacting the performance of your solar panel. Typically, indirect sunlight, temperature rise, cloudy sky, and dirt and stain build up on the top glass lead to a reduced power output.
How should I connect solar panels in my electrical circuit (series vs parallel)?
Depending on your electrical circuit size and power demand, solar panels can be connected in series or in parallel. When you connect them in series, the system current output will be the same as that of a singular panel, while producing the effect of adding up their operating voltage output. On the other hand, the operating current output of individual panels is added up to be the system output current when they are connected in parallel. In this case, the system output voltage will be the same as the output voltage of one solar panel. To meet the optimum power output and system rating for your power system, you can use both parallel and series connections.
How many solar panels do I need?
To figure out how many solar panels you need, you must define the required power load. Power is measured in Watt, and capacity is commonly measured in Watt-hours (multiply power output in watts by the required number of hours of operation multiplied by a safety factor of 1.5-2). As such, first figure out your battery bank based on the minimum required capacity, and then decide how many panels or how much power input is needed.
Works well with a Jackery 1500 Explorer (with an 8mm adapter _and_ the parallel panel adapter, even for just one of these panels). getting ~180W in sun in Wyoming in July. Still get decent watts (50-80) in some clouds. Excellent for powering a family campsite, fits nicely in the car for travel, and easy to move around and set up, even with the velcro-themselves-back-too-easily kickstands.

Great Value
Posted by 1345092 renogy customer on Apr 4th 2024
I purchased this in early March in Michigan. I didn't really expect too much production at that time of year in the cold, dark north. However, I was pleasantly surprised that in rare full sun, it was putting out about 160 W and 70-80 W in the neverending cloudiness.
Folding out four kickstands is kind of a pain due to the Velcro. It would be easier if I had four hands.
Overall, it seems robust and much easier to handle than my previous glass/aluminum panel from another vendor.

this is a well-constructed and thought-out panel. Everything is there and ready to be connected to a charge controller. The trickle charger comes with an array of connectors for all types of devices. The big panel is read to deploy and even includes ports for two trypes of USB devices. The LED to indicate power is a nice touch.

200w Portable Solar Panel
Posted by Mike Nevins on Feb 1st 2024
Full review cannot be done until June or July because of the angle of the Sun here in Colorado. However, initial results are that it put out 146 watts, 19+ volts. So, at that, I think the wattage is gong to come in around 180-190 w. The build quality is good and the stands are acceptable but could be a little stiffer. Pleased so far.

200W Portable Solar Panel

This is a very nice portable panel that just beats the competing portable 200w panels in fit, finish and function hands down. The fabric and zippers are MUCH better that some of the other panels. This panel should provide years of service.

Per Specs

I bought 2 of these to put in series to supplement my current 2 x 400W system to make it 3 x 400W. These portable panels performed 100% per spec. The legs are a little weak and these are far from water/weatherproof so I just need to remember to bring them inside if rain or wind are coming. Since the description says they are only splash resistant, everything is as advertised. I also tested as a standalone charger and it charged my USB devices well. They are a nice option for portable power for dry environments.
