How to Troubleshoot A Smart Lithium Battery If Its Heating Function Is Not Working?
Why can't my Smart lithium battery’s heating function work? If you're into tech, dealing with a Smart lithium battery whose heating function is not working can be a real pain, how to do the battery troubleshooting? Even with a fancy battery bank, you might run into this issue. If you're stuck with this, there are some easy tricks to try. Let's figure out why your power's acting up and what you can do about it.
This troubleshooting guide applies to the following products:
- 12V 100Ah Smart Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery (SKU: RBT100LFP12S-LFP)
- 12V 100Ah Smart Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery w/ Self-Heating Function (SKU: RBT100LFP12SH)
- 48V 50Ah Smart Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery (SKU: RBT50LFP48S)
Why Can’t My Smart Battery’s Heating Function Work?
Unfortunately, when your Smart lithium battery’s heating function is not working, there could be a variety of reasons behind the problem. The issues might stem from a damaged battery or external factors unrelated to the lithium battery itself. It may require some trial and error as well as battery troubleshooting to uncover the underlying cause.
What Are the Factors Affecting the Operation of Smart Battery’s Heating Function?
- Not meeting the activation conditions for the individual battery's self-heating function.
- Not meeting the activation conditions for the heating film when two or more batteries are connected in parallel.
Troubleshooting RV Battery Problems: A Step by Step Guide
For a single battery, please verify whether the following conditions are met:
1. Voltage Difference: The voltage difference between the external charging device's charging voltage and the battery voltage is greater than 0.5V.
2. Necessary Current for Heating Film: The charging device can provide a continuous and stable charging current (recommended to be greater than 4A).
3. Temperature Conditions: The internal temperature of the battery is below 41°F/5°C and above the minimum operating temperature of the heating film.
Minimum operating temperatures for the heating film:
- RBT100LFP12SH (-4°F/-20°C)
- RBT50LFP48S (14°F/-10°C)
(For new products, please refer to the respective user manual.)
------Possible Results------
Positive: All the above conditions are simultaneously met, but the heating function is not activated. It is determined as a battery heating film malfunction. Please refer to the after-sales process.
Negative: The above conditions are not simultaneously met. Please ensure that all the above conditions are met before retesting.
For a battery bank, please verify whether the following conditions are met:
4. Voltage Difference Between Batteries: The voltage difference between the two batteries needs to be higher than 0.5V for the heating films of both batteries to operate simultaneously.
