Bifacial Energy Yield up to 30%
Capture sunlight from both sides of the panel, delivering up to 30% more energy compared to traditional monofacial solar panels, ensuring maximum efficiency and power generation.

Compatible with most mainstream trackers, these panels enable optimal angle positioning in open spaces, allowing you to maximize solar energy production. Experience the peace of mind that comes with a self-sufficient, reliable energy source.
Take advantage of the high efficiency of bifacial panels by storing excess energy in batteries for future use or selling it back to the power grid. Installing a solar roof is a smart financial investment that increases your home’s value while providing sustainable energy.
Durability for Any Weather
Renogy solar panels are rigorously tested and validated to endure extreme conditions, withstanding snow loads of up to 113 psf (5400 Pa) to ensure reliable performance year-round.
Optimized Performance in Shaded Conditions
Incorporating advanced technologies like PERC cells, half-cut design, bypass diodes, and 10 busbars, this panel is engineered to maximize energy output even when partially shaded, delivering consistent power in challenging environments.
Increased Output on Snowy Days
The bifacial design helps shed snow faster and warm the panel more quickly, ensuring uninterrupted energy generation. The rear side continues to capture reflected light, providing consistent power for off-grid living, even in winter conditions.
Versatile Mounting Options
Designed to accommodate a variety of installation methods, these panels offer flexibility for strategic energy planning, helping you create a customized solar solution that meets your unique needs.

1. What are the benefits of using bifacial solar panels?

Bifacial solar panels offer a range of advantages that set them apart from traditional monofacial panels. By capturing sunlight from both the front and rear sides, they significantly enhance energy generation, making them more efficient and powerful. These panels perform exceptionally well in overcast weather, maintaining higher energy output even under low-light conditions. Additionally, their versatile design allows for installation in any direction, making them an adaptable and reliable solution for various applications.

2. What do I need to complete my off-grid solar power system?

To set up an off-grid solar power system, you’ll need a solar panel connected to a charge controller, which regulates the current flow, and a battery to store the generated electricity. Additionally, adapter kit cables are required to connect the solar panel(s) to the charge controller, while tray cables are needed to link the charge controller to a deep-cycle battery. Together, these components ensure efficient power generation, regulation, and storage for your off-grid energy needs.

3. What does off-grid and on-grid mean?

An on-grid solar system is connected to the electrical grid, allowing you to use electricity from the grid when needed and feed excess energy back into it. In contrast, an off-grid solar system operates independently, storing the power it generates in batteries for later use. Off-grid systems are self-sufficient and remain unaffected by grid blackouts, making them ideal for remote locations or those seeking energy independence.

4. Why is my solar panel underproducing power?

Several factors can affect the performance of a solar panel, leading to reduced power output. Common causes include environmental conditions such as indirect sunlight, high temperatures, overcast skies, or the accumulation of dirt and stains on the panel's surface. Regular cleaning and proper positioning can help mitigate these issues and ensure optimal performance.

5. How should I connect solar panels in my electrical circuit - series or parallel?

Solar panels can be connected in series or parallel configurations depending on your system's size and power requirements. In a series connection, the operating voltages of the panels are added together, while the current remains the same as that of a single panel. In contrast, a parallel connection increases the system’s total current by adding the current outputs of each panel, while the voltage remains the same as a single panel's output. To achieve optimal power output and meet your system's specifications, you can combine both series and parallel connections as needed for your setup.

6. How many solar panels do I need?

To determine how many solar panels you need, start by assessing the power load required for your system. Power is measured in watts, while capacity is typically expressed in watt-hours. You can calculate capacity by multiplying the power output in watts by the number of operating hours, then adding a safety factor of 1.5 to 2. It’s advisable to size your battery bank first based on the minimum capacity needed. Once the battery is sized, you can calculate how many panels are required to provide sufficient power input for your energy needs.

    Great deal

I love these because yes they are big but you only need to wire two and they work outstanding I will be buying more.

Big and heavy and average output. Max 900W for 2 panels

    Posted by St8kout on Jan 10th 2024

I was really hoping to hit at least 1 KW, but 900W for 2 in series has been the max from the Las Vegas sun. In comparison, it takes 12 - 100W Renogy panels to give me ~ 900W. I have them leaning against a bright block wall at about 45 degrees, where they get full sun from morning to evening. Maybe they are supposed to be mounted up high and out in the open to get reflected light. I would need a heavy duty pole mount for that.

    The 550 watt is massive

Posted by Skworld on Jan 4th 2024

These things are massive. In size and output. Bought the 550 watt panels and did not realize how big these things really are. Going to use it as a screening setup. Laid them on my front grass in not the best angle for testing and saw a peek of 1138. The two days of testing they would still see between 450 to 550 when clouds passes just laying on the grass. These panels easily make there rated output and do well on cloudy days. They are great!

    None

Posted by john on Dec 31st 2023

The 2 Renogy Bifacial 550 Watt Solar Panels arrived safely and were installed.? However, the glass surface of the front of the panels was abraded? discolored maybe by contact with the cardboard packing.? There was no soft packing in between so when shipped, the moving and jiggling may have caused this.? I tried cleaning the surface but nothing works.? Hope it doesn't cut down on the efficiency.

    As advertised on power production.

Posted by Michael Trace on Sep 19th 2023

they got up over 1300W peak, so glad I didn't get another panel as my charge controller only supports up to 1500W.
