1.Can the 2000 watt model be mounted vertical?

Never because of the potential of block cooling fans.

2. What’s the difference in features between this one and the old 2000?

It has a switch to change from 60hz to 50hz.

3. Can these be used in parallel?

Yes, but it would probably be cheaper to purchase the 2000 watt or 3000 watt inverter.

4. How low of a battery charge will this 2000 W inverter continue to supply power? The one I have now quits if the batteries drop below 11.7 volts. ?

The problem with your current inverter is most likely poor or too small or too long of a wire between the batteries and the inverter. When you have a high resistance in the wiring, and the inverter is drawing a high load, the voltage "seen" by the inverter is lowered.

5. What is the load and no load current draw in watts for the 2000w inverter?

At power (P)=2000 watts divided by system voltage (V) ie. 120 volts, max Load in Ampere = 16.6A. Recommended 15 amp load.

6. What size inverter should I buy?

1. Sizing the right power output. Inverters will be rated by a wattage value, telling you how many watts it can run at one time. For example, imagine you had a 500 Watt Fridge and 800 Watt Air Conditioning. These two items would be 1300 Watts and would require an inverter with a higher wattage than 1300W. Renogy 2000W and 3000W inverter will meet your power needs. 2. Check your battery voltage. The DC voltage rating on the inverter will tell you what battery bank it is compatible with. For example, a 12V battery bank will require an inverter that is compatible with 12V DC input. 3. Size your installation spaces. What area or space will you set your inverter? Make sure the inverter will fit in the space you have in mind with enough room around it for proper ventilation and no fire hazards. 4. Remote operation is important. Renogy pure sine inverters come with convenient remote control and DC HOME APP options so that you can operate the unit from afar.

7. Do I need Modified Sine Wave, or Pure Sine Wave?

Modified sine wave inverters are older technology and generally less expensive. They can be used for many standard appliances but may cause trouble with delicate electronics or audio equipment. Some equipment may work but run hotter than normal. Pure sine wave inverters are a bigger investment, but much more versatile. a) Output voltage wave form is pure sine wave with very low harmonic distortion and clean power like utility-supplied electricity. b) Inductive loads like microwave ovens and motors run faster, quieter and cooler. c) Reduces audible and electrical noise in fans, fluorescent lights, audio amplifiers, TV, Game consoles, Fax, and answering machines. d) Prevents crashes in computers, weird print out, and glitches and noise in monitors.

8. Can I use the Bluetooth Module to monitor the inverter from my phone? Which Bluetooth Module should I buy?

Yes, Bluetooth monitoring is supported. If necessary, you can acquire the BT-2 Bluetooth module for monitoring through either the DC Home app or Renogy One M1/Core Monitor.

2000W 12V PURE SINE WAVE INVERTER

Posted by NewUser on Mar 17th 2024

Excellent product for those who have RVs, but not so much for standalone projects like a shed. My project was a shed not connected to the house and needed to be bonded. However, the instructions for this unit says if it's bonded it will void your warranty. So, I purchased a different manufacturer product that was bonded and it worked perfectly. However, trying to return the device and get my money back was a real pain. Renogy did not keep up on the support notes, so I had to keep explaining my issue over and over and over again. Finally got a refund.

Very Efficient Inverter. Love power saving mode!

Posted by TerryV on Aug 1st 2023

I replaced my Tripplite Inverter/Charger in my sailboat with this unit (separate charger of course) and it totally rocks. My Triplite only drew 1 amp at no load but the Renogy typically uses less than .5 amp according to my Victron Battery Monitor when in power-saving mode. I had a portable generator on the boat as a backup if the batteries got low but I brought it home because I no longer need it.
